Viva Las Vegas

There’s really no need for headgear to experience the full-on virtual reality that exists in Las Vegas these days. Behind all of the neon lights and plaster coated faux-façade life only seems to get more surreal. As you step into one of the many theaters, showrooms, or hotel lobbies you are literally transcended into a scene from some exotic place in the world (if only in the most kitsch way!). In my slightly biased opinion, I still think that the Cirque du Soleil shows on the strip are the most exciting, adventurous, and technically advanced productions that I have ever seen. After spending the last 3 nights there with my parents, we felt as though we had seen it all (but of course there’s a new Cirque show scheduled to open next summer that I have to see)… All in all, I think that Vegas has surpassed NYC in the grand arena but it still lacks the reality of being in something more than just a plastic city. I would go back to the little neon oasis in the desert for the entertainment any day, but I continue to believe that I would enjoy living in a community of something more than just tourists elsewhere…
